Hi...this is the time to share my views with u ...all of my good friends and pal and critics too....i ws jst 16 when i entered the media industry....wth li'l hope....at this age i found it was my first and last independent decision that i ever took...after 15/16 yrs when li'l thing still made me happy or unhappy....

Today i was doing a recce for an election story.my subject this time is 'bhadrolok'....i mean to say typical traditonal urban voter...and i was dumbstruck tracing its genesis.In the late forties the typical urban voter wouldnt exercise its franchise in favour of the left parties as they represented the downtrodden labour class.At that point of time even Jyoti Basu ,wth his sound academic background,would be considerd as second class leader,where as Md Ismail,a standerd eight pull-out would be considerd a first class leader courtesy his grassroot level contacts.Even when he became the Chief Minister in 1977,the second-in-comand was krishnapada Ghosh,the then labour minister.This only shows how important the labour class has been to the party.The ministers were all from humble backgrounds.This even featured in the article of Nishit De,journalist of Paribartan as he delineated how a minister like Prabhas roy was seen sewing his clothes in the confines of his ministerial chamber.The party that would enjoy the entire traditional urban votes was congress.Barring a few exceptions like Ajoy Mukherjee,Prafullya Sen,Atullyo Ghosh,most of the other leaders ---Shidhartha Shankar Ray,Pratap Chandra Chanda,Jagonath Kolle,Ashok Krisna Dutta,Ardhendu Naskar...were from the elite class.
But the situation took a 360 degree turn soon after.Now the second important ministry is that of industry,this only shows how the common balance has tilted in favour of industrialisation,with the left party catering even to the BHADROLOK VOTER instead of limiting itself to just the labour class.AfterJyoti Basu introduced the new industrial policy in 1994 changes started creeping in slow but steady.The party now flaunts its sofisticated corporate look.Today a gentleman leader like Md Selim has replace an uncouth Md Ismail.Fact is the leaders who represent the party of proletariats dont seem to belong to that class themselves.What an irony!!!!!
